Job Title: Class II Water Supply Operator
Department: Water Works
Reports To: Operator of Responsible Charge and/or Public Works Director
Hours: Full time, requires weekends, call-outs and overtime.
Responsible for monitoring the provision of potable drinking water in accordance with the Ohio EPA, USEPA, and other regulatory bodies through the operations and maintenance of Lockland’s Class II water supply system by performing duties personally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform chemical analyses, draw samples of water for testing; add chemicals. Prepares, signs and submits reports to the OEPA concerning chemical and bacteriological analyses of water, and other topics as may be required by the OEPA or EPA. Operates filtering and chemical treatment, coagulation and settling basins, and other plant facilities. Determines action being taken in event of emergencies such as machine, equipment, or power failure. Recommends new equipment or modification of existing equipment to provide increased operation capacity or efficiency. Review and evaluate water reports, records, logs, and graphs to confirm adequacy of present and projected water needs, meter reading and repair of water main breaks. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead other operators. Class I & trainee’s in the operations of Lockland’s water treatment and field operations. Substitute for ORC, Operator of Responsible Charge, in his absence.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Minimum of an Ohio Class II water supply licenses, must be able to pass a lab certification, and have a valid Ohio Driver’s license.
Job Title: Public Works Director

Reports To: Village Administrator
Salary: $61,367.46 per year
Hours: Full time
Summary: Responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Public Works Department as well as its personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Directs activities, assigns duties, trains and instructs crew members in methods and procedures applicable to street maintenance and repair and operation of any equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks; keeps personnel records on all crew members; evaluates crew members annually; enforces safety procedures; recommends step increases or disciplinary action.
Responsible to assure proper traffic control and overall safety of assigned job shift. Participate in budget preparation; estimate expenditures, approve department expenses, etc. Assure completion of maintenance work orders, repairs, etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Exercises supervision over all Public Works and Water Works employees.

Education, Skills and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent; familiarity with a variety of skills, trades, heavy equipment, maintenance and repair and construction. Three to five years supervisory experience.

Physical Demands: Ability to perform physically demanding maintenance work under hazardous conditions and in all weather conditions.
