Hours: Full Time, requires weekends, call-outs and overtime.
The Village of Lockland is currently accepting applications for full-time position of Maintenance Worker This position will report directly to the Public Works Director. The qualified candidate must have general knowledge in construction, plumbing and electrical. Be familiar with equipment such as, backhoe, brush chipper, leaf machine, commercial mowers and bucket truck. Some duties include, but not limited to, maintaining Village properties and roadways, concrete, blacktop, mowing, tree trimming and removal. Also, landscaping, weed removal, water main repairs. Must be able to obtain pesticide license within 6 months of start of employment. Must be available for emergency call outs on nights and weekends after normal hours. Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and have good communication and comprehension skills. The Village of Lockland is an equal opportunity employer.
Job Title: Class II Water Supply Operator
Department: Water Works
Reports To: Operator of Responsible Charge and/or Public Works Director
Salary: $20.87 per hour
Hours: Full time, requires weekends, call-outs and overtime.
Responsible for monitoring the provision of potable drinking water in accordance with the Ohio EPA, USEPA, and other regulatory bodies through the operations and maintenance of Lockland’s Class II water supply system by performing duties personally.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform chemical analyses, draw samples of water for testing; add chemicals. Prepares, signs and submits reports to the OEPA concerning chemical and bacteriological analyses of water, and other topics as may be required by the OEPA or EPA. Operates filtering and chemical treatment, coagulation and settling basins, and other plant facilities. Determines action being taken in event of emergencies such as machine, equipment, or power failure. Recommends new equipment or modification of existing equipment to provide increased operation capacity or efficiency. Review and evaluate water reports, records, logs, and graphs to confirm adequacy of present and projected water needs, meter reading and repair of water main breaks. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead other operators. Class I & trainee’s in the operations of Lockland’s water treatment and field operations. Substitute for ORC, Operator of Responsible Charge, in his absence.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Minimum of an Ohio Class II water supply licenses, must be able to pass a lab certification, and have a valid Ohio Driver’s license.
